Rumors once swirled that Justin Bieber was purchasing Grand Cayman’s Castillo Caribe estate but no, Justin Bieber doesn’t live in the Cayman Islands.
Neither does Reese Witherspoon, Lionel Messi or Rhiana (although she hails from neighbouring country, Jamaica). Johnny Depp may have spent significant time in the Caribbean (with many bottles of rum) but he nor Hawaii’s Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, own Castillo Caribe.
The most popular man on earth isn’t living in the Cayman Islands. It’s understood Elon Musk’s digs are lesser in scale and opulence, opting for quaint and captivating residences instead.
Castillo however, may be the type of adobe Ariana Grande would consider, but, we think it would be better suited to Jeff Bezos considering the top-level outdoor deck could be converted to a heli-pad.
The home may be a decent fit for Tiger Woods overall, but the only golf he’d be playing at the resort-like property would be in the private golf simulator room.
It’s possible Roger Federer would consider retirement in the Caribbean with oceanfront tennis courts like those available at Castillo Caribe.
Local celebrity and star of the Hulu reality TV series, Secrets in Paradise, Courtney McTaggart has filmed at the estate, noting she “didn’t ever want to leave”. McTaggart and the Sotheby’s International Realty team shot footage for a lifestyle video so potential owners could feel what it might be like to experience life on South Sound’s shores, in addition to a standard virtual tour. However, capturing the estate on film can’t ever mimic what it is like to visit the home in person.
Let’s put all speculations aside because we know who the current residents are and also that many celebrities have donned the patios and stepped on Castillo’s white sandy beach.
The owners had envisioned, designed, and built the incredible estate with the idea that where you place your hat can also be where you relax, rejuvenate, get fit, retreat, study, work, entertain and play. All within a short distance to world-class restaurants, shopping, diving and award-winning Seven Mile Beach in a tax-neutral nation.
With few properties in the world like this, we pondered that the owners were also visionaries. They simply thought of it all, and more.
Owning a property in the Cayman Islands has many benefits. There are several destinations globally that offer offshore status to a greater or lesser degree but Cayman is unique, a diamond undiscovered. Cayman has no local taxes whatsoever: no property tax, no income tax, no capital gains tax and no inheritance tax, a private airport and dozens of international direct flights.
Inquiring minds want to know. Whose hands will the keys to this epic estate belong in the future? Who will make the grandeur of Castillo Caribe their Caribbean paradise?
